Driving Directions

Scenic Route:
Take Route 20 South to 53 East. Pass Monticello and turn right on Rte. 795 (James Monroe Parkway) toward Ash Lawn-Highland. Travel 1.8 miles past Ash Lawn - Highland and continue straight onto Rte. 627, Carter's Mountain Road (stay straight along stone wall — do not veer left). Travel about 2 miles — after a bend there will be a white sign for a farm called Lanark on the right, immediately after on the right is Grand Cru Drive (there is a small guard house at the entrance). Turn right onto Grand Cru Drive. The Kluge Estate offices are on the left; turn left off Grand Cru Drive to reach the offices.

For the Farm Shop, continue on Rte. 627, passing Grand Cru Drive. After Grand Cru Drive, the second road on the left is Blenheim Road. There is a sign for the Kluge Estate Farm Shop there. Turn left onto Blenheim Road and the Farm Shop is the first driveway on the right.

From Staunton or Richmond:
From Interstate 64 Exit 121, take Rte. 20 South and proceed as above.

From Washington DC and North:
Take Interstate 95 South to 495 West and continue to Exit 49 (I-66 West). Take I-66 West to Rte. 29 South towards Gainesville (Exit 43). Once in Charlottesville (approximately 2 hours) take the Rte. 250 Bypass West/29 South (the on ramp is on the right — lane turns right up to the bypass). Travel approximately 3 – 4 miles to the I-64 East exit (toward Richmond). Take Exit 121 (Scottsville/Rte. 20 South). Travel south for 9 miles. Turn left on Rte. 627 (Carter’s Mountain Road) and stay on Rte. 627 for approximately 3 miles. To reach the Kluge Estate offices, proceed past Blenheim Road. The next road on the left is Grand Cru Drive, the entrance to Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard (there is a small guard house). Turn left on Grand Cru Drive and take the first left to reach the offices.
