A Legacy of Gracious Living

The beautiful landscape and mild four-season climate has long attracted residents to the Albemarle County region. Among those were three of the first U.S. presidents, whose historic homes created a rich tradition of gracious country living continued by Vineyard Estates.

Most notable of these neighboring estates is Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, a 5,000-acre center of agriculture and industry, highlighted by a Roman Neoclassical-style home renowned for its combination of beauty and innovative features.

Also nearby and available for tours is Ash Lawn-Highland, the home of Jefferson’s close friend and protégé, James Monroe.
